Autism Spectrum Disorders
Autism spectrum disorders are thought to have a genetic basis that is triggered by environmental factors. There is strong evidence for a genetic immune vulnerability, and it is theorized that genetic variants culminate in a weakened ability to cope with environmental stressors and toxins. Autism is diagnosed by the symptoms and behaviors we observe as the outward manifestation of what is going on internally. We now know that autism is most adequately characterized as a whole body disorder. Often, addressing diet proves beneficial, and supplements may also be indicated.
"There’s a lot of evidence suggesting that people can improve and recover from autism."
-Dr. Martha Herbert, pediatric neuroscientist, world reknown autism researcher, and author of The Autism Revolution
